For the first time ever, IAFSM and ACSR are joining forces to host the biggest training conference of the year for industry experts in the fields of forensic metrology and crime scene reconstruction. Come learn from the world’s leading experts in 3D forensic reconstruction, shooting incident reconstruction, bloodstain pattern analysis, forensic metrology and crime scene reconstruction. Get hands-on with vendors to demo the latest cutting-edge technology in forensic reconstruction, including terrestrial laser scanners, small unmanned aerial systems (sUAS), mobile mapping, handheld scanners, photogrammetry tools and software packages, 3D crime scene reconstruction software and more.
Conference Theme: Mass Casualty Documentation: Bridging the Technology Gap
Agenda
Note: All scheduled events, speakers, workshops, social gatherings subject to change up to the date of the conference and during the conference; updates will be communicated via the Whova App.
Mass Casualty Exercise: The pinnacle event to start off the conference will be a huge Mock Mass Casualty Exercise held at the 1stBank Center, a 6,500 person capacity concert and sporting event arena, just 1 mile from the hotel. The event will commence with conference attendees observing the simulated response by participating fire, EMS and law enforcement agencies. After the dust settles, conference attendees will get to spend the rest of the day working with vendors, using traditional and new reconstruction technologies to “document the aftermath” of the mass casualty event. Access to this event is included in the registration fee.

Plenary Session: The conference will continue on Tuesday with an opening ceremony, keynote speaker and presentations from industry experts. Wednesday will be a full day of 2-hour hands-on workshops with over 24 workshops to choose from. Thursday will be filled with presentations from morning to evening. A half-day on Friday will wrap up the conference with a keynote speaker and presentations from vendors showcasing their data from the mass casualty exercise on Monday.
Basic Laser Scanning Certification (BLSC) Course: IAFSM will again be offering a certification course to become a certified Laser Scanner Operator. The course will include several webinars prior to the conference, an 8-hour in-person class on Sunday, February 13th, 2022, participation at the off-site event and workshops throughout the week. The final exam will be proctored Thursday evening. This is an additional fee on top of the conference registration, so be sure to select this add-on when registering if you want to attend the BLSC.
Social Events: Tuesday after the conference will be a Welcome Reception for members from both ACSR and IAFSM and non-members to meet and discover what each organization has to offer. In addition, ACSR will be hosting The Last Piece Society on Tuesday night, which is an opportunity for industry experts to present puzzling cases, photos, scenarios to their fellow investigators and forensic experts in an effort to garner new investigative leads from an expert audience. Wednesday night will be a banquet at Dave and Buster’s including live entertainment and the opportunity to socialize with fellow conference attendees. The cost of the banquet is included in the registration cost; additional guest tickets are available for purchase at the time of registration. Thursday night will be another social event at the hotel restaurant and an opportunity to network after an amazing week of forensic reconstruction training.
