Course was designed for detectives, crime scene technicians, medico-legal death investigators and others involved in investigation of deaths. Through both lecture and practical exercises, investigators learn and practice methodologies for objective investigation and analysis of death scenes. Course includes basic investigation at the scene, search warrant preparation, case management, forensic evidence evaluation, basic bloodstain pattern evaluation and crime reconstruction, interview and interrogation and more. This is not a “checklist” course. Attendees will use critical thinking skills to analyze and investigate “hands on” historically based homicide investigations. Course hosted by the Houston Forensic Science Center and sponsored by Tritech Forensics Training, the exclusive training partner of the International Association of Identification (IAI).
